Growing long-term partners by providing value
“We provide our customers best value added services. Our aim is to improve the efficiency of the supply process by offering the right item at the right price. We want to keep goods returns to a minimum as we understand the hassles involved. ” Indeed, BHM’s philosophy is to supply right products of premium quality at the right price. This has in turn developed many companies into loyal long-term business partners.
Another attribute to this success comes from BHM’s comprehensive inventory of premium quality and technically certified marine electrical products such as marine & offshore cables, lighting systems and electrical products from supportive international brand partners and manufacturers.
“In every business, it has to be win-win. We want to bring value to our customers apart from our products. ” This effort can be seen from BHM’s value added service of Total Inventory Management where customers are offered interim inventory storage and progressive delivery of inventory and billing. This management system is a holistic approach, which requires the management to implement with an overview and ultimate objective of final cost savings and Just-in-time delivery.
In a real case study, a six vessels projects over a span of three years were achieved with the following outstanding results:
– No fluctuations of pricing over the three years project period
– JIT (Just-In-Time) deliveries against production schedules
– 20% back up stocks for the projects to cater for ad-hoc additional requirements due to change of designs and/or systems
– Only 80% of cables quantities and 70% of PO value delivered. i.e.
· 30% savings in dollar value from original PO value, no hassles of cable buy back
· 20% savings in materials used for the projects, which is environmental friendly
· Savings in logistic costs for the projects
· Progressive deliveries and progressive billings, savings in financial costs for the projects
In another initiative to bring cost savings to customers, BHM has designed and developed a range of Marine LED lighting solutions which provid
es innovative energy-efficient technologies, at the same time, meet the demands of the harsh Marine environment. Be it a new vessel or a refit upgrade, Going Green by minimizing resources is one of the ways you can contribute to Sustainable Development. “Owners can look to amortizing their investment within a few years by using lesser energy to provide the same service.”
As part of our e-commerce strategy, BHM also recently launched a new e-store to better serve our channel partners and customers, providing them with a one-stop customer engagement portal in which product information is categorically presented with easy-to-use search and compare functions. “We see the traits of procurement gradually transforming. The e-store will serve as a good informational platform for buyers or owners.”
